Despite only blogging for a few months, I have been missing it as part of my routine for the past month or so. I have also really missed sewing, not living in a pile of boxes and not realizing I have already packed something away that I need before the end of March. All of these things are temporary and maybe they just make the anticipation and excitement of our new space that much more exciting. We used to say things like "I'm so excited for a bigger kitchen" and now we say things like "I'm so excited for a place without boxes." The bar has been lowered.
Anyway, Multitasking. I am always multitasking. I hate feeling unproductive. It's actually the reason I started knitting. I felt too lazy watching TV and movies and doing nothing. I felt guilty and restless. But watching TV and making a hat for Christmas gift = super productive.
I am not able to watch TV and sew at the same time, but I do love to listen to Pod Casts while I sew. I've also started doing this while cooking.
Here are a few I listen to and enjoy.

CraftLit is my go to Pod Cast. Classic literature is broken into one or two chapter episodes with excellent readers and information before and after the chapter. I am always excited when I've developed a backlog of episodes and I can spend an evening listening to a few in a row. I actually always enjoyed reading the classics when I was in high school but I think I would've appreciated them a lot more if I had the background information that sets the context of the book that Heather Ordover provides. The books are beautiful and entertaining and I always learn something. There is a bit of "crafty chat" at the beginning of each episode so if that's not your bag you can skip ahead to the time listed in the comments where the book talk starts.
Chop Bard is a fresh and cheeky approach to Shakespeare. Ehren Ziegler walks you through some well known plays with a ton of energy, knowledge and insight. I find I am constantly saying to myself "ooooh, THAT'S where that came from."
Wire Tap is a radio show on CBC. I love when I catch it on the radio in the car but I typically miss it. I love the dry and sarcastic humour of the show.
Those are the pod casts I am currently listening to. I'd love if anyone had some more suggestions for other ones to try out. Sometimes I listen to a random pod cast recommended by itunes but I often end up offended or bored. What do you listen to?
Also, a friend showed me this trick using a cup. Below you can see my very sophisticated speaker system. I swear it doubles the volume of my phone.
